Melodic cello, legato double bass and a hint of brass swells add dramatic highlights and tension while pizzicato strings add a contrasting lightness to the piece. Full of suspense and expectation due to the clockwork-like piano and modulating chord progression, it has a dramatic, frustrated feeling.

A gentle, pulsating string and harp intro featuring solo viola, cello and oboe flourishes into life with string shorts, harp glissandi and orchestral runs before dying down again for the ending. Good use of the vibraphone creates a dreamlike quality to help set an intense, melancholic and nostalgic mood, tinged with a sense of reflection and regret.

A slow and emotional cinematic epic. Rich strings start the inspirational ball rolling, building through uplifting piano progressions and subtle background guitar, swelling to a fulfilling soundscape of heroic and positive atmosphere. Calming and reassuring, yet powerfully driving without the need for percussive hits or hectic ostinato, its a well crafted slice of comfort cake for the ears.

A short and elegant waltz, with a great sense of freedom and flow in the tempo as well as performance. Pizzicato strings, trilling woodwinds and light metal percussion build to a grand, triumphant resolution in this playful and upbeat piece of high class revelry.

Dark suspense track. With gothic overtones thanks to the choral themes and cinematic fantasy thanks to the repeated glockenspiel and piano motifs, the horror seeds are planted early on to generate the brooding atmosphere. With a deep, rolling bass line and booming percussion enhanced by synth drops, brass rasps and jagged strings, it soon becomes a nightmarish mix of ominous energy and overwhelming helplessness.

Soothing choir and lush strings and pads start us off, with rich brass swelling to a gently pulsing section of strings and woodwinds as it builds to a more epic finale of fanfare brass and timpani rolls. No stand out melodies, but an overall feel of wonder and enlightenment in a gentle and majestic setting.

Using the complete orchestra to generate an organised chaos, this fast paced piece features themes from all directions - string runs, woodwind answering phrases, brass interjections and relentless percussion all combining to create a circus of sounds with a hint of the macabre.
