Royalty Free Sad / Nostalgic Music

An atmospheric orchestral hybrid track. From a calm, arpeggiated piano intro, backed by searing synth pads and textures, the piece develops through a pulsing section into a vibrant, majestic theme using string ostinato and choral pads, grounded by light, driving percussion. Followed by an evocative violin lead over the main theme, it continues to take us on a soothing, yearning voyage of discovery and wonder.

Beautiful and elegant cinematic track. With a light and uplifting feeling, it uses string harmonics and soft piano 'question/answer' phrasing to develop the foundation as it builds to a livelier theme featuring pizzicato and legato strings, bright piano and an expressive cello lead. Positive and full of optimism with a delicate sensitivity.

Emotionally sombre piano track based on a simple chord progression. Hauntingly sorrowful, deeply pensive and openly honest, it's a slow moving composition that builds beautifully with elegant strings to reveal a deeper and more involved sound. Calming, but undeniably sad.

Ethereal light orchestral piece for strings, piano and harp. Starting with a magical, fantasy feel through high legato strings and fast harp, it soon turns to a more mystical orchestration, melancholic cello becoming more prominent, and introducing a stately motif - something that is boldly developed into a majestic statement as the flow of the music unwinds. Peaceful and steady, while maintaining the grandeur and wonder of an unknown infinite universe, it's a gentle study of questions without answers.

Soothingly haunted piano instrumental, backed by strings and harp. Slow and intense, with piano parts ranging from simple arpeggios to virtuosic runs, it's beautifully crafted to give the impression of elegance and subtlety with a darker, unseen edge lurking nearby. Drama, suspense, reflection and tension are the key ingredients to this minimalist track.

Lush, ambient soundscape to leave you feeling like you're floating on a cloud of angel dust. Rich synth pads, cinematic piano, and most of all, the gentle lulling of the female vocals will suck you into a dreamlike state, lifting you ever higher to a spiritual nirvana - safe, comforted and reassured.

Deeply reflective piano piece with a calm, minimalist approach. Not a lot of notes, but a lot of rich ambience, diverse emotions and mood from shimmering overtones and swathes of reverb - simplicity and soul-searching would be the only key words for this one. And maybe remorse. And a little hope. And solitude. And peaceful mystery. And I should stop now.

This very intimate solo piano describes the torn feelings of homesickness, the sadness but also the precious memories.

Slightly melancholic song reflecting on the boundless aspirations we have when we're young, and how reality kicks in. Not that it dwells on it so much, leaving us with a mellow acoustic pop folk track featuring male vocals that musically lightens to an upbeat song with a hip feel. Tuneful, charismatic and well crafted.

Contemporary classical duet for piano and flute. Slightly ethereal, slightly playful, its diversity mainly comes from rhythmic changes, dynamic variety and chordal dissonance. Soft, dreamy passages lead to fast, aggressive hits and steady rolling motifs change to uneven, juxtaposed off-beat rhythms to form a modern, classical piece that hints at a sombre, downtrodden mood with a carefree, optimistic side.

Inspiring film score featuring piano and modern orchestral instruments.

Beautifully soft ambient piano with a real intimacy. Its power comes from its simplicity in gently weaving from chord to chord with unhurried elegance, minimalistically enhanced by the subtlest of pads and textures as if to reflect a serene shimmering of light seeping into your mind. Calm, soothing and touching with both an uplifting side and a mournful side.

Wistfully floating into the ether, this short cinematic track beautifully glides between soft angelic voices and shimmering strings for a soothingly uplifting and pensive feel that has a deeply tragic undertone. Melancholic yet optimistic at the same time, it makes great use of the natural qualities of the cellos and ethnic woodwinds to paint its heavenly picture of light and dark.

A gentle, melancholic acoustic guitar tune to clap along to in front of the campfire

An acoustic ukulele and piano instrumental with a difference. Normally the reserve of upbeat and commercial happiness, this uke theme takes on a more reflective feel, with a slower pace and more serious overall tone, whilst still managing to maintain the lightness, simplicity and dynamic of more conventional pieces. A subtle shift in feeling with a familiar style.

Atmospheric track with a cinematic shimmer. Starting piano based, with a delicate string drone to support the tension, it builds through faster notes and greater instrumentation to its main string theme of slightly Oriental inspired violin and cello. Mysterious and curious in feeling, with a sense of apprehension, it is nevertheless calm and free flowing, taking you on a journey to an unknown world.

Fresh and tight beats with hip hop elements triggers curiosity and a cool atmosphere

A soothing, contemplative acoustic guitar piece with comforting warm vibes and homely sentiment. Animated without being fast paced, its gently flowing melodies and acoustic resonance float through our heads with a purity and simplicity that evokes heartwarming feels with just a touch of romanticism. Sweet.

Smooth South American styled track. Laid back Latin flavours come from the clean electric guitar melody, the off beat Spanish guitar and percussive rhythm section to build a tuneful and relaxing vibe of sunshine and mojitos with a hint of nostalgia. Simple and effective, with an elegant, dancing flow.
